Over the past several years, I visited dozens of tide pools in California, took pictures and notes and started working on a website about tide pools in California. This is the result of the many hours visiting the many tide pool location. I try to keep it updated with current events and respond to questions and comments.
Here is a little about me. I went to school and graduated from Long Beach State with a degree in Marine Biology many moons ago. I spent a few years working in various labs and field work. Also spent several years volunteering with a few local museums and organizations working with marine related topics as a docent. When doing some research related some project I quickly found few resources for tide pools in our local area and I thought it would be a great idea to put together some websites that visitors can use to learn about tide pools but also where to find them.
Here is a link to an article in the Register about me and some of the work and interests. I also created a TV series about tide pools that is available on Amazon Prime called ‘Life in a Tidepool“. In this series, I work with local experts and tour 8 different locations and talk about the ecology of the various marine life.
For those of you that are interested in surfing and the history of surfing, I also produced a feature length film called The Surf Zone that takes the viewer through a journey of the history of surfing from the late 50s to modern time.
